Obituary of Madeline A. Baker

WESTFIELD - Madeline A. (Watson)Baker, age 66, of Jones Road, Sherman, NY, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center of Erie, PA. Madeline was born on August 30, 1947 in Richmond, VA, the daughter of the late Herbert and Nina (Reid) Watson. Madeline was a Westfield area resident all her life. She graduated from Mayville High School and went to nursing School at WCA in Jamestown. She had been employed at Westfield Memorial Hospital for many years and retired from Nursing in 2013 after being employed in the offices of Dr. Grant W. Stephenson in Ripley. Madeline enjoyed people, working with them and for them, most recently as a private duty nurse. She was a very good artist who loved to draw. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, ceramics, crocheting and anything that looked like fun. Her family was important to her as well as her faith. Mrs. Baker was a member of Fellowship Church of Brocton and enjoyed her Church activities and Church family. She was a former member of the Beta Preceptor Sorority. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lawrence "Larry" Baker, whom she married on march 17, 1967 in Westfield, and by her children; Rebecca S. (Jason Riley) Bearce and David W. Baker both of Sherman, NY. Madeline was the proud grandmother of Ryan David Baker. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by her two brothers, James and Terry Watson and by an Infant sister. The funeral will be held 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Fellowship Church, 148 West Main Street, Brocton, NY with Rev. Sandra Ball officiating. Friends are invited to call for 2 hours prior to her service from 2 until 4 Pm in the Church Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or to the Fellowship Church.
