Sarah V. Hunt, 92, of Westfield, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon August 20, 2023 at her residence.

She was born in Westfield, NY on Dec. 13, 1930 the daughter of the late George and Laura (nee Hall) Slocum.

Sarah is survived by two beloved daughters LouAnn (Kenneth) Herron of Delaware, OH and Martha Rae “Marty” (Richard) Hoffman of Westfield, NY; four grandchildren, Eric Hunt, Sean Hoffman, Jennifer Hatch and Craig (Elizabeth) Hoffman; four great-grandchildren; and a niece, Reta Carden.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by a son, James Hunt, two brothers, George and Fred Slocum and two sisters, Florence Slocum and Anita Jaquith.

Sarah was lifelong area resident she worked at Meeder’s Restaurant in Ripley, NY as a waitress and cook retiring with more than forty years of service.

In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, working crossword puzzles, word search and Sudoko all to keep her mind sharp.

Friends may call at the First Baptist Church of Westfield   19 Union St. on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 10:30 – 11: 30 AM, services and interment in the Quincy Cemetery will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sarah’s memory may be made to the Dept. of Westfield, Rescue Squad, 23 Elm St. Westfield, NY  14787.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY.
