Obituary of Herbert D. Schultz

A Westfield resident all his life, herb graduated from Westfeild Acedemy in 1957 and earned his batchelors degree from Cornell University in 1961 in Agriculture. He served in the US Army from 1961-1963. Herb returned to Westfield and and stared his grape farm on Martin Wright Road and then purchased the George Ward farms in 1968. He was a member of National Grape Cooperative and Growers Coop. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Farm Credit and was a strong supporter of Cornell. Herb was a longtime member of the Deutchmeister Band mastering the Tuba. Herb was well known for his great sence of humor and joking style. He as able to bring family and friends together with is wonderful, loving, joking style. Active in his community, Herb had been active on the WACS School Board, the Rotary Club, coached "Y" Basketball, and coached "T" Ball. He and his family hosted several exchange students through both Rotary International and International Fellowship. An avid traveler, he and his wife and family had traveled throughout Europe and Mexico. Herb enjoyed all sports and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. However, to sum Herb up; his family was everything to him.
