WESTFIELD-Diana L. Dorman, age 48, of Spring St., Westfield, formerly of Mayville, died Wednesday evening, June 2, 2010 at home, surrounded by her family, following a 4 1/2 year valiant and courageous battle with Cancer.
Diana was born in Westfield on August 22, 1961 the daughter of David Dorman of Stockton and Donna (Sunday) Emo of Sebring Florida. Diana always kept her contagious smile on her face, and has left many wondering; why Diana? She was loved by anyone who met her and was always there with a helping hand when someone needed it. She was a 1980 graduate of Mayville Central School. A successful businesswoman and restaurateur, Diana started her career at the age of 15 working at Graces Sweet Shop, Shorewood Country Club and continued at the Portage Inn, the Mar-Mar and Webb's Captains Table prior to owning her own restaurant, Snug Harbor Restaurant and Lounge from 1998 until her illness no longer allowed her to do so. She also had her own house cleaning business and was an accomplished seamstress. Diana was a 20 year life member of the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post 8647 Auxiliary and a member of the Wm. L. Travis Post 493 Ladies Auxiliary. Diana is survived by her "Angel Al", Alan Lehman, her companion, soul mate, caretaker and best friend, Al's two sons, Ryan and Mathew and by her beloved and very spoiled Jack Russell Terrier, Mia. She is also survived by her father, David Dorman and her "other Mom" Mary Ellen Dorsett of Stockton, her Mother Donna Emo and Step-Father James LaCount of Sebring FL, brother Dennis and his wife Virginia, nieces Amanda Robinson, Jessica Thompson and nephew Dennis Dorman. Diana is further survived by a great niece and a great nephew, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, "Mom" Betty Lehman and "Gram" Bessie Warner. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerald and Marjorie Dorman, Floyd "Stub" and Alice Sunday and Francelia Lamkin, Step-Father Frank Emo, Step-brother, Michael Dorset, Uncles: Alfred Sunday, Floyd "Dee" Sunday, Charles Sunday and Irving Deland, as well as cousins: LuAnn Farrell and Nicholas and Randy DeLand. Diana's family will receive friends on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 1:00PM until 2:00 PM at the Mayville American Legion where there will be a celebration of Diana's life held at 2:00 PM with her cousin, the Rev. Larry Morrison officiating. A time of reunion and refreshment will follow in the Social Hall. Alan and Diana's family want to thank all her friends (too many to name) that helped her through her tough days and were always there when she needed them.
