Obituary of Barbara M Daniels

 

 

Barbara M. Daniels, 66, of Westfield, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 16, 1953, in Dunstable, MA, the daughter of the late Richard B. and Mary J. (Serradas) Carkin. Barb was a graduate of Groton-Dunstable Regional High School in Groton, MA. A longtime resident of Westfield, she worked at SUNY Fredonia in Career Development until retirement in 2016 when she pursued her passion for quilting, needle work and sewing. She loved her family and friends, home and gardens, but mostly loved to meditate at her sewing machine creating gifts for loved ones. Not always considered ‘politically-correct’ but at least you knew where you stood with her. She considered Jehovah God her friend and did her best to live her life to His Glory. Barb is survived by her three sons, Chris Kirkland, Michael (Jessie) Paradis and Danny Paradis; three grandchildren, Sarah Kirkland, Zach Kirkland, and Eleanor Paradis; and one great-grandchild Andre; her five sisters, Niki (Manuel) Rodrigues, Jules (Tom) Bartlett, Mimi (Chris) Forsell, Beki (John) Bishop, Marguerite (Steve) Kazmierczak and her brother Mike Carkin; also one aunt, Sandy Ostman, several cousins, many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and one great-grand niece. Also survived by her longtime friends, Linda Breault, Kathy McGowan, Sharon Harrington, Whitney Taylor, and several others.She was preceded in death by her daughter Sarah Paradis.A memorial of her life will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care https://chpc.care/donate/
