Please share a memory of Lucille to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

WESTFIELD - Lucille M. (Emery) Black, age 84, of Westfield, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020, UPMC-Hamot Hospital in Erie, PA following a brief illness.

Lucille was born on December 5, 1935, in Turkey City, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Clifford and Mary (Sarver) Emery, Sr.

She was a Westfield resident all of her life.  Lucille was a graduate of WACS and was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Westfield, where she had been very active in many of the Church's activities. Her love and faith in her Lord and her Church community was of utmost importance to her.  Lucille loved being a dedicated homemaker and wife, who rejoiced in raising her three wonderful children of which she was so proud. She also enjoyed working in the grape vineyards of many local farmers, picking and tying grapes by hand.  She was not afraid of hard work! Lucille liked to bake, cook and knit. She loved Country music and Christian music. She greatly enjoyed her many outings with her sisters for lunch and spending time with her family and friends attending concerts in the park. She was always giving of herself to others, by being a personal care aide for several area residents and by volunteering for over 18 years at the Westfield Community Kitchen in which she received the Volunteer of the Year Award. She loved to laugh and be kind to others. If you were to meet her, you were now her friend. Above all else, Lucille loved to spend time with her family.

Survivors include her son, Paul D. Black of Westfield NY, and her 2 daughters, Wendy Lou Black of Dunkirk NY and Kathy L. Black of Lackawanna, NY.  She is further survived by her 2 brothers, Clifford "Sonny" Emery and Kenneth Emery, both of Westfield and by her 3 sisters, Geraldine Gamble , Betty Gilbert and Patricia Archer, all of Westfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Lucille and her family remained close to her late husband’s family; her brother and sisters in law, who reside in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Charles P. Black, whom she married on August 30, 1958 and who passed away on July 29, 1995, as well as by her sister, Nora Alonge.
