PORTLAND - Margaret L. (Howser) Cettell, age 75, of Portland, NY, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at home surrounded by her family following an extended illness.

  Margaret was born on August 23, 1944, in Brookville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Isaac and Helen (Miketish) Howser.

  Margaret had been an area resident most all her adult life. She was a dedicated homemaker who greatly loved caring for her family and adored her grandchildren. She liked playing Bingo, cooking and crocheting. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler. Margaret loved her 2 dogs, Cuddles and Puppa, who will greatly miss her.

   Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles J. Cettell, Sr., and their children, Richard Cettell of Westfield, NY, Joseph Cettell of Pomfret NY, Carol Harwood of Portland  and Cathy Mills, also of Portland NY. 15 Grandchildren, many great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.  She is further survived by her 2 brothers, Terry Houser of Falconer, NY and Robert Howser of Westfield and by her 2 sisters, Carol Durfee of Westfield NY, and Wilma Hefner, of Hartsville, SC.

  She was preceded in death by her 3 children, Charles, Jr.,  Michael and, Karen Cettell, as well as by her grandson, Jeffrey Woollett, and her great grandson, Jayden Cettell, and her 2 sisters, Loretta K. Cettell, and Ruth Clark, and by her 2 brothers, Roger Houser and Charles Houser.
  Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY on Sunday afternoon, January 19, 2020 from 2 PM until 4 PM and are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 12 Noon, with her grandson, Pastor Daniel Woollett officiating.  Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Westfield.
  Memorials may be made in Margaret’s name to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmont Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
