Obituary of Violet R. Leach

Violet R. Leach, 94, of 9 Oak Street, Westfield, passed away Tuesday morning, July 22, 2008 at Westfield Memorial Hospital with family by her side. She was born June 18, 1914 in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of Nellie and Rufus Hess. Violet was a member of the Westfield Women of the Moose # 517 and the VFW ladies auxiliary in Westfield. She was a devoted homemaker and especially enjoyed being with her family. She is survived by her six children, Shirley (Jim) Sanderson of Westfield, Sharon Seiter of Fredonia, Sandra J. Leach of Westfield, Wilson "Bill" (Karen) Leach of Dunkirk, Steve Leach of Westfield, and Lynnell M. Ellis of Westfield. 13 grandchildren, twenty- three great-grand children, and 6 great-great grandchildren also survive her. Surviving siblings include one brother, Robert (Lucille) Hess of Colon, Michigan. Proceeded in death by her husband of 33 years, Wilson Leach whom passed away in 1968. , A brother Herbert Hess, and a sister Beulah Dearing. No visitation will be observed. Burial will be private in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in her name be made to the Northern Chautauqua Canine rescue, 7540 North Gale Street, Westfield.
