Obituary of Norman E. Bowen

A Westfield resident most all his life, he had been employed by the former Nickel Plate Rail Road pior to beginning his career as a machinist for over 30 years working at Ajax / Renold, Inc. from 1952 until 1986. He had been a member of the Cascade Hose Co. of the Fire Dept. of Westfield and Emergency Squad and the Fire Police for many years. Nubby was a 50 years member of the Loyal Order of Moose #118, The Wm. P. Jackway VFW and the John W. Rogers American Legion, and the Westfield Firemans Exempt Assoc. all of Westfield and was a member of the 10th Armored "Tiger" Division Veterans Assoc. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, He was an complished wood worker and carpenter who built his own home and enjoyed continually improving and puttering around the home. Nubby had coached the White Sox Little League Baseball team for several years and always enjoyed little leage ball. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Nubby is further survived by his beloved cat, Jack, known to everyone who ever visitied the Bowen household.
