Obituary of Ona Lee Baker

WESTFIELD - Ona Lee (Haskin) Baker, age 85, of Westfield, NY formerly of Dewittville, NY and Deming, NM, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, at home in Westfield following a brief illness.

   Ona Lee was born on December 10, 1933, in Westfield, NY, a daughter of the late Warren H. and Bernice R. (Smith) Haskin.

   Ona Lee was a 1951 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School and earned her Associate Degree in Computer Data Processing from Jamestown Business College. She worked in the Computer Data Processing offices at the former Ajax Flexible Couplings in Westfield prior to her retirement. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and was an avid reader.  After living in New Mexico for over 20 years, Ona Lee was excited to return to her hometown of Westfield.

   Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Bert L. Baker, and her son, Douglas Shepard of Jamestown, NY and her 2 daughters, Candace Brown of Lubbock, TX and Diane Guilliams of Nashville, TN.  Ona Lee is further survived by her Step-son, Steven Baker of Westfield and by her brother, Howard Haskin of Westfield, and by her 5 sisters, Martha Sherman of Westfield, Donna Carter of Corry, PA, Patricia Cochran, Phyllis Genthner and Judy Hoffman all of Westfield. Several grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive                

  She was preceded in death by her first Husband, Eugene Shepard, her sister, Virginia Riedesel and her brother, Larry H. Haskin.
  At Ona Lee's request, no calling hours will be observed and all Services will be private for her family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ona Lee's memory may be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmont Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
