Whitney was a beautiful soul and I miss her greatly. I hope the service helped others who are struggling with addiction as that is what she would have wanted. I want to thank everyone for the kind words and gestures. It has given me a lot of comfort.

So sorry for the loss of your precious daughter. I feel your pain as I lost my oldest child in 2010 to this hateful disease. My two other children are fighting the same fight from prison cells. So thankful that your daughter was trying to help others with same struggles. We both know the fight is never really over til it's over. Prayers and blessings for Whitney and her family and friends.

She wants you to know she was blessed for having you in her life & she is sorry you found her that way. That's all I know from Whitney. It was passed on by my 30 year old niece who relapsed September 30. You will get many signs from her. Through a song, a butterfly, ladybug, a feather in your pathway, a penny or dime, a rabbit or deer not running from your presence. And do not think you are crazy when you see someone that looks exactly like her. It is her soul being with you at that moment. Sometimes you'll get a hug. Our love one's will continue to protect us while we journey into change. Whatever messages you receive, focus on the environment around you & remember how everything appears to you while you are being filled with that energy from your loved one in the Spirit World. Your emotion will only be Love. But not in the beginning because of your unbearable sorrow. Stay in bed, keep crying while always saging. Build fires as often as you can & light candles. The flames and smoke take the negativity, the pain and our messages to the heavens & we are clearer to understand all the coincidences and what we are suppose to do with these deaths. Take notes of your thoughts that come to you in a flash. I think all these pieces are guiding us to the truth and how to make this world right again. I Know they are. May The Great Spirit continue to give you the courage and wisdom to battle on. I am so sorry for the disbelief this pain brings. Stick together. Sincerely, Diana Giaccardo

We are so sorry for your loss. It is clear from your writing that Whitney recognized the evils of this terrible disease and was trying so hard to make a difference in the battle for herself and others. No one could ask for more. While sadly she lost her own battle with it, please find some solace knowing that her efforts to make a difference have probably already saved more than one of the many trying to conquer this demon. The wheels for help are turning much too slowly, and until society realizes and admits that this disease is found in literally everyone's circle, the help we need will continue to be limited. It is those like Whitney who will make the difference; who will make the changes come. Our voices are needed too, and you have our deepest respect for your decision to speak of her battle in this obituary. My family's hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

I had the amazing pleasure of meeting Whitney at The Somerset House last year, where we lived together for several months. Whitney had one of the biggest hearts I have ever seen. She always went out of her way to make someone smile or to talk to them if they were struggling. My heart breaks for Whitney and her family. She is greatly missed by so many. I will always cherish the times her and I had. Prayers and love go out to Whitney's family and her Fiance Tyler.

I did not know this beautiful child but I do know your pain as a parent, as a sibling, grandparent or dear friend. I also lost my beautiful daughter to addiction. My heart goes out to you all. The only consolation is knowing she is out of her addiction and pain. May she Rest In Peace and May all who loved her begin healing with the knowing she is in a perfect place free of her addiction and the suffering that goes with it. . God bless you.

So young and too soon. My condolences to her family and friends. I meet Whitney at KED Stepping Stones I was a sober support for a few of the girls while Whitney was there. I remember her as smiling, fun young lady. The last time I saw her was at the NF convention two years ago. I felt bad about not realizing it was her at first but her hair was dyed and she looked much different but still smiling. Rest peacefully Whitney and keep an eye out for your friends.

I will miss you. This makes me so sad that I am sending this from the hospital after just having my baby girl that you will never be able to meet. You were taken way to young. I will forever remember our time at Sommer set and supportive living. I miss our long talks in you room when something was going on with either one of us. Or how you always tried to bring peace to the house.

Whitney was my roommate at the Wendy House in Olean. She had an old soul and a generous spirit. She was struggling with adjusting to living in the community after leaving a secure treatment facility but she was on fire for her sobriety. She was volunteering her time to speak at area high schools in the hope that her story would help others. I am a better person for having known her. I am devastated that she has lost the battle with her demons. May she rest in peace and may her journey be an example to others. Fly high sweet girl.
