Born and raised in Warren, PA she attended St. Joseph's Academy and graduated in 1940 from Warren High School.

Edith had been a resident of Westfield from 1946 until she moved to Arizona to be with her family in 2004. While in Westfeild she had been very active in Church affairs having served on the St. James Major Parish Council and other boards and activities of her church. She had also volunteered her time to the Westfield Memorial Hospital Gray Ladies organization, the American Red Cross Blood mobiles and a variety of other community events.
