WESTFIELD - Rosemary S. (Stefanelli) Bova, age 81, of Jamestown, formerly of Westfield, NY died Monday, April 16, 2018 at The Lutheran Home of Jamestown, NY following an extended illness. Rosemary was born on August 18, 1936 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose Louise (Russo) Stefanelli. She married Russell S. Bova on November 24, 1956 in Jamestown, NY, who preceded her in death on September 2, 1998. An area resident most all her life, Rosemary attended Jamestown Schools, and had been employed by Quality Markets in Westfield, and Mayville. She retired from the Mayville store in 1986 after 15 years of service. Rosemary was a longtime member of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, and was a life member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She devoted many years to the Parish and Church activities; especially serving as a Sunday School Teacher, and as a leader of the Parish Prayer Chain. Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family and friends will always remember her passion and remarkable talent of cooking, especially her famous Italian cucidati (fig) cookies. At Rosemary's house there was always an endless pot of coffee, and she always welcomed anyone with open arms who came to her door. Survivors include her four daughters: Kathryn (Scott) Wilfert of Westborough, MA, Rose (William Dingledine) Hunyady of Ashtabula, OH, Monica (Walter) Jusko of Mayville, NY and JoAnne (J. Michael) Baker of Mount Lebanon, PA. Rosemary was the proud grandmother of, Amy Bova Wilfert, Jessica Horvath, Rosemary Nicholson, Kathryn Nicholson, Amber Jusko, Naloti Palma and John Dingledine. She was blessed with one great granddaughter, Gabrielle Horvath. Rosemary is further survived by her two sisters: Matilda "Tillie" Martinelli and Marian Holcomb as well as her one brother Frank Stefanelli, all three of Jamestown, NY. In addition to her parents and loving husband Russell, Rosemary was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Stefanelli, and by her two sisters, Elizabeth Denitto, and Virginia Rizzo. Friends may call on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6-8 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY, and are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Dominic RC Church, 15 Union Street, Westfield, NY with Father Romeo Hontiveros officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
