Obituary of Helen Marie Cogliano

Helen M. Cogliano of Cushing Street, Fredonia died peacefully Friday January 19, 2018 surrounded by family at Absolute Care of Westfield following a brave battle with cancer. Helen was born in Westfield, NY, on January 13, 1955 a daughter of Mary (Paschke)Cogliano of Fredonia and the late Joseph Cogliano. A graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School, Helen was employed by The Resource Center Workshop for many years. Helen enjoyed crocheting afghans for family and friends, loved animals, her shoe collection and driving her PT Cruiser. Survivors include her sisters, Carol (John) Jablonski of Lakewood, NY , Sharon (Terry) DeTamble of Buffalo, NY, and Brenda (Jason) Backus of Westfield, NY as well as her nieces and nephews: Jenna Jablonski and her husband Dan O'Brien, Julia Jablonski, Charlie, Laura and Hayden Backus, and Joseph DeTamble, as well as her cherished Aunt and Godmother, Irene Gitler of Sterling Heights, MI. Helen was also blessed to have the support and care of her "extended family" through Aspire of WNY, (especially Kevin and Cindy), as well as The Resource Center, and most recently Absolute Care of Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2 pm-4 pm with a Funeral Service at 4 pm at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St, Westfield NY.
