WESTFIELD - Michael B. Ptak, age 76, of Bird St., Westfield, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital of Erie, PA.
The son of the late Frank and Victoria (Winters) Ptak, Mike was born on September 10, 1940 in Cleveland, OH.
A Westfield area resident for most all his life, Mike had been a machinist for Renold Inc. for over 40 years. He was an avid collector of Die Cast Antique Model Cars. He enjoyed puttering around his home and loved being with his grandchildren. He loved his family.
Mike was a very active, hard working man, however, for the last 11 years he fought a hard battle with Parkinson's disease.
Mike was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 118, the Cascade Hose Co. of the Fire Dept. of Westfield, and the IAMAW Local 1555.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia S. (Woodin) Ptak, whom he married on December 14, 1979, as well as by his three daughters: Cindy Lee (Luciano) Ptak-Garcia of Colorado, Christine (Jon) Ptak of Westfield and Beth (Stephen) Jagoda of Brocton, NY, and by his two sons, Michael Scott (Robyn) Ptak of Westfield and Kevin Ptak of Augusta, KS. Mike is further survived by his Step-children, Thomas (Jessica) Holland of Bemus Point, NY; Stacy Holland of Westfield, and Dawn Holland of Jamestown, NY. 13 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides his parents, Frank and Victoria, Mike was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene (Baker) Ptak.
Friends may call on Thursday afternoon, August 17, 2017 from 2-4 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY. At Mike's request, all other services will be private
Flowers are gratefully declined and Mike's family suggests memorials be made to the Fire Department of Westfield Memorial Fund, 23 Elm Street, Westfield, NY 14787.
