WESTFIELD - Edna D. (Dascomb) Bajdo, age 94, of Oak St., Westfield, died peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at home. Edna was born on August 7, 1922 in Westfield, NY the daughter of the late Clair and Cordelia (Saunders) Dascomb. She graduated from Westfield Academy in 1940 and from Jamestown Business College in 1942. She married Henry Bajdo in 1942. Following Henry's death she married Ray Bajdo in 1968. Edna was a member of Westfield Women of the Moose, the American Legion Auxiliary, and a 71 year member of the Rebekahs, currently Stockton Star Rebekah Lodge. As a teenager, she couldn't wait to become a member of Theta Rho, the teen sorority of the Rebekahs, followed the Rebekahs which she joined in 1945. She held many different local and state offices, culminating in her "Decoration of Chivalry" in 2000, one of the highest honors bestowed by the state organization. She also enjoyed travel, reading, Bingo, her pets, and this past year was deeply touched by the over 100 birthday cards she received from friends and strangers in a card shower. She is survived by her husband Ray Bajdo, one son Clair (Paulette) Bajdo of Mayville, two daughters Susan Sortore of Westfield, Patricia (Richard) Lundquist of Jamestown, her sister Pauline Winslow of Westfield, six grand-children, and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Henry "Hank" Bajdo in 1968, her daughter Janet Bajdo Kell in 1984, and her grandson Andrew Lundquist in 2010. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 6 – 8PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield and are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday morning, November 17, 2016 at 11AM at the West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 West Main Road, Westfield, NY with Rev Charles Robertson officiating. A Rebekah Service will be held prior to the funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmont Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750, or the charity of one's choice.
