WESTFIELD - Marjorie J. (Jackson) Breads, age 88, of Spring St., Westfield, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at home following an extended illness.
Marjorie was born on July 20, 1928 in Centerville, PA, the daughter of the late William H. and Inez (Eldred) Jackson, Sr.
A Westfield area resident since 1946, Marjorie came to Westfield from Centerville, PA for employment in the Welch Foods offices. She soon met and married the love of her life, Robert Breads on June 19, 1948. They lived on the family farm in Volusia, where they raised their family. In 1973 Marjorie started working for the Village of Westfield in the Village offices, and remained there for over 20 years retiring in 1993.
She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed Cross Stitch, reading and calligraphy.
She was an avid gardener and loved her roses. She canned many quarts of vegetables from her garden. She enjoyed square dancing and playing cards in the Westfield Pinochle Club.
She was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield and enjoyed many Church activities and committees. She was also a member of the Volusia Grange.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert D. Breads, her daughter: Karen (Jaime) Botteron of Westfield, NY and by her two sons, Jeffrey (Sue) Breads of Westfield, NY and Ronald (Cindy) Breads of Portland, NY, as well as her daughter in law, Constance (late Bruce) Breads of Churubusco, IN. Marjorie is further survived by her three brothers, Terry Jackson of Ripley, NY, Gene Jackson of Randolph, NY and Dennis Jackson of Portsmouth, VA. Many Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Gary and Bruce Breads, and by her sister, Marlene Campbell, as well as her three brothers, Richard, Robert and William H. Jackson, Jr.
Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 6-8 PM and are invited to attend the Funeral Services there at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, with Rev. Nicholas Perry, of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
