Obituary of Maxine DeLand

RIPLEY – Maxine (Sunday) DeLand, age 83, of Shortman Rd., Ripley, NY, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. Vincent Health Center of Erie, PA.
Maxine was born on September 2, 1932 in Brocton, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd "Stub" and Alice (Delcamp) Sunday.
A lifelong resident of Chautauqua County, Maxine was a graduate of Brocton High School class of 1951. She had been employed as a School Bus Monitor for Brocton Schools and most recently for Westfield Schools. Maxine had also been employed by the Westfield Memorial Hospital in housekeeping and at the Absolut of Westfield also in housekeeping. She was a life member of the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post 8647 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Maxine was an avid bird watcher.
She is survived by one son: David (Nancy) A. DeLand of Ripley, NY; her companion of 24 years, Richard Kimble, and his children: Paula, Jon, and Jeff Kimble and Carol Spoon, her sister, Donna Emo of Sebring, FL, and Daughter In Law, Debbie DeLand of Knightvale, NC. Maxine was the proud grandmother of: Stacy DeLand of Wyoming, NY, Timothy (Amanda) DeLand of Sherman, NY, Jared (Jill) DeLand of Raleigh, NC, and Nicki DeLand of Knightvale, NC, Jennifer (Joe) Chimera of Westfield, Douglas (Kristie) Parnell of Ripley, Ron (Dawn) Parnell of Erie, PA, James (Ashley) Woodruff of Pittsburgh, PA and Kyle (Angel) Woodruff also of Pittsburgh, PA. 4 Great Grandsons and 7 Great Granddaughters also survive.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Irving DeLand, her two sons, Nicholas and Randy DeLand, by her 3 brothers, Alfred, Floyd "Doc", and Charles Sunday, and by her niece, Diana Dorman and her nephew, Dennis Dorman.
A Celebration of Maxine's life will be held on April 2, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Sherman First Baptist Church, 113 Church St., Sherman, NY, with Pastor Timothy Minge officiating. Private Burial will be in Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
