Obituary of Matthew Northam Vere

Matthew Northam Vere, 53, was taken from us suddenly to be with our Lord on September 19, 2015. He was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky June 8, 1962. He grew up in Augusta, Georgia moving to Ripley, New York in 1973. Matthew resided in Houston, Texas for the last several years. He attended Ripley Central School, graduating Valedictorian of the Class of 1980. Continuing hiseducation he graduated State University at Fredonia and received his Masters in Engineering at the University of Buffalo. Matthew started his career with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, continuing to New York City, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and finally in Texas. He owned two commercial printing companies, one in Fort Worth and one in Houston, Texas. He was employed by DFS Worldwide overseeing training and Human Resources in Houston. He loved animals, traveling, music, sports, donating time to those less fortunate, and his family. Traveling on mission trips, Matthew financed a water well in Africa and helped build a church in Venezuela. Throughout his life he helped the less fortunate with his generosity. He was a member of the Church of God in Houston, Texas and dedicated his life to his beliefs. He was predeceased by his father, Alvin Northam Vere and his mother, Ann Meredith Vere Beck. He is survived by his Pop, Robert Beck of Dunkirk, NY, his sister, Meredith Vere Patton (Sam) of Ripley, NY and his pup Brutus. Arrangements are being handled by Mason Funeral Home in Westfield, NY.
