We lost track of Fred. We hadn't seen him in years. The last time he was in pain with his back. Fred was in our wedding in August, 1977. He looked mighty handsome in the tux. So sorry we never saw him again.

Another one of Westfield's own gone. It says so much about a person who led a life such as Fred's, who spends his adult life in, or back in, the town where he was raised. What a wonderful tribute to someone who chose to do so. His life was full and rewarding, and he enjoyed that feeling of being embraced by a community that knew him well and for a long time. From someone who was also raised in the wonderful village of Westfield, my sincerest condolences to Fred's family.

I will always have great memories of Fred, Dan and my big brother Marley (Mopar). They were a wild bunch when they were young but they all had big hearts.

Dear Snow family: Fred had the best smile and was one of the cutest older classmen we younger girls talked about....In the past few years, he was always happy to give you a few minutes of his time for conversation and was always a true Veteran. May your memories help you through this difficult time, God Bless.

WESTFIELD - Fred E. Snow, age 73, of Grove St., Westfield, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Erie, PA, following an extended illness.
Fred was born on March 30, 1942 in Long Beach, CA, the son of the late Fred M. Snow and Ruth Evelyn (Wynkoop) Johnson.
A resident of Chautauqua County since age 13, Fred was a 1960 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School and served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam war from 1960 until 1964. Following his honorable discharge, Fred started a long and rewarding career as a truck driver first with Davis and Randall Trucking in Fredonia, NY, and then for many years with Red Wing Corp. Fred also had driven the Mobile MRI truck to hospitals and health care facilities throughout WNY and NW PA for several years prior to his retirement in the early 2000's. He enjoyed that this gave him the opportunity to help those in need. He was an avid reader, a fan of NASCAR, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fred was a proud veteran, a member of the VFW Post 6764, the John W. Rogers Post 327 American Legion, and of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #118, all of Westfield, NY.
He is survived by his daughter, Randie Snow and by his son, James (his wife Amanda) Spencer and their children, Samantha and Lilli Spencer all of Pittsburgh, PA. He is further survived by his brother, Dan M. Snow of Westfield.
All Funeral Services were private. The burial with Military Honors was held in Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
