WESTFIELD - Ronald C. Powers, Sr., age 61, of Westfield, died peacefully Saturday, August 15, 2015 at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center of Erie, Pa. with his family by his side.
Ronald was born August 21, 1953 in Jamestown, NY the son of the late Clifford A. and Doris E. (Decker) Powers.
After serving his country in the Air Force, Ron had been employed with the NYS DOT in Mayville, NY and retired in 2004 as a supervisor, after many years of service.
Ron was a family man who enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his children and his grandchildren. They were everything to him.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and being outdoors. Watching old TV shows was a favorite hobby, especially the Three Stooges.
When he wasn't at home, he loved to take long road trips.
He loved his 70's classic music and entertaining and cooking for others. He and his wife operated the former Beth's Parkside Café and volunteered at the Westfield Soup kitchen.
Ron's life was always puting others first; he never stopped helping and caring for others.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Beth A. (Orlando) Powers who he married on August 5, 2005 in Westfield, NY , his two daughters, Kimm (Glenn) Weaver of Frewsburg, NY, Susan (Mathew) Fail of Mooresville, NC and his three sons: Ron (Elizabeth) Powers, Chris (Kristine) Powers, Matthew (Kristen Vanstrom) Powers both of Frewsburg, NY. Ron is further survived by a step-daughter, Allyssa (Joseph)Sophie of Boynton Beach, FL and one sister, Constance John of Sinclairville, NY and three brothers, Clifford Powers, Jr. and Mark Powers, both of Sinclairville, NY and Gary Powers of Waterford, PA; and by his cherished grandchildren, Brianna, Dillon, Kaylynn, Jonathan, Lillian, Raegan, Blake, Mathew Jr., Gavin, Lennon, Gibson, and one great-grandson, Ayden. Many brothers in law and sisters in law, nieces and nephews also survive as well as his amazing friends, Chuck and Terry Wheeler and his honorary grandson, Jordan Czak.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Audrey Powers.
Family and friends may call Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, and are invited to attend the Funeral services at 10:00 am on Friday, August 21, 2015 at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 12 Elm Street, Westfield, NY with Reverends Virginia Carr and Charles Wheeler officiating.
