WESTFIELD - Mary Lou (Morgenstern) Orlando, age 83, of Washington St., Westfield, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Absolut Care of Westfield following an extended illness.
Mary Lou was born on May 9, 1931 in Westfield, NY, the daughter of the late Paul and Bernice (Brumagin) Morgenstern.
A Westfield resident all her life, Mary Lou was a graduate of Westfield Academy and Central Schools. She had been an Avon Representative for many years in the Westfield area and had earned many accolades and awards for her accomplishments in sales. Mary Lou was an invited member of the prestigious Avon President's Club. Mary Lou had also been employed at the Cafeteria of Westfield School for several years and at the Westfield YWCA in various capacities.
She was an avid golfer and enjoyed many years of golf at the Point Chautauqua Golf Course and was a member of the Monday night ladies league. An Active member of the Westfield Community, Mary Lou had volunteered as a Gray Lady of Westfield Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a former member of the WWO and the Mother's Friendship Club. Mary Lou was a faithful member and communicant of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church of Westfield and was a long time member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her four sons, James M. Orlando of Westfield, Robert S. (Mary Ann) Orlando of Fredonia, NY, Anthony M. (Karen) Orlando, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL. and Paul S. Orlando of Westfield, NY. Mary Lou was the proud Nana of Shelby (Brian) Orlando-Schiess, Erin (Carter) Hatcher, Eric (Dayna) Orlando, Amy (William) Bluhm, Brandon and Dustin Orlando. Mary Lou is further survived by her 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Anthony M. Orlando who died on October 2, 1978 and by her daughter, Jan M. Orlando, her two sisters, Elizabeth Morgenstern and Caroline Hough and by her brother, Richard Morgenstern.
All services will be private. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
