Obituary of Corinne Cunningham

PORTLAND - Corinne Marie Cunningham, age 36 of North Hollywood, CA, formerly of Portland, NY, passed into the presence of her Savior on Saturday, October 11, 2014 after a brief battle with a very rare aggressive cancer which she faced with courage, her typical directness, razor sharp mind and wry sense of humor. Corinne "Cori", born in Westfield, NY on November 29, 1977 was a daughter of Ronald Cunningham of Portland and the late Martha (Deck) Cunningham. She was a 1995 graduate of Brocton Central School, where she had been active in various clubs as well as Band, Chorus, the Student Council and the National Honor Society. She attended the Brocton Baptist Church and was active in the Youth Group and AWANA Club where she earned the Timothy Award. She received her bachelors degree Cum Laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned her Master's Degree from San Jose State University of California in Library and Information Science in 2008. She had resided in California since 1999. Corinne was the first employee hired at The Hattema Group over 12 years ago and served many roles during the growth of the company. In the early days she was receptionist, accountant, project coordinator, advisor and marketing manager in addition to any other role that needed to be filled. After completing her Master's Degree in Library and Information Science, she assumed the role of chief researcher and archivist, as well as the Director of Information Services for The Hattema Group. Her radar-like awareness and memory made her the "go to" source for information about the company or any other subject. For those who knew Corinne well, she had an incomparable dry and witty sense of humor. She loved life, laughter, music, was insatiably curious and always up for a new adventure. As a self described "foodie" she followed upcoming chefs and restaurants around the country and often traveled just to attend dining events. Survivors include her beloved husband, Morgan Roberts and their two dogs, Ki and Coda; her father, Ronald (Alice) Cunningham of Portland, NY; her 2 sisters, Christine Cunningham of Napa, CA and Cara Bentham of Columbus, IN and her step-sister, Sherri (Clay) Morrison of Portland, NY. She is further survived by her paternal grandmother, Eleanor Cunningham of Westfield, NY as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides her mother, Martha (Deck) Cunningham, who died on January 17, 1993, Corinne was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Milford and Ruth Deck and by her paternal grandfather, Allen Cunningham. Friends are invited to join with Corinne's family for a Memorial service on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Brocton Baptist Church, 35 West Main St, Brocton, NY with Rev.
