Obituary of Thomas McGilvery

Thomas "Tee" McGilvery, III, age 69, of Glendale, AZ, formerly of Westfield, died Friday, April 18, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ., following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Thomas was born on January 10, 1945 in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late Virginia (Armfelt) McGilvery and Thomas McGilvery, II, of West Virginia. Tee was a 1962 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School and a 1966 graduate of Trinity University with a bachelor of Arts degree. While at Trinity, he was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He served in the US Army, during the Vietnam War, from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1969. Thomas had been employed by US Air in Washington DC for several years and then as an independent consultant doing programming and problem solving. He loved the Buffalo Bills, history, The Beatles and his hometown, Westfield. Besides his father Thomas McGilvery, II, Tee is survived by his daughter, Magee Conner and his son, Christopher Vail as well as by his sister, Lee Ellen (Paul) Dowler, his Companion, Anne Hatcher of Glendale, AZ, his Aunt, Donna Hess, his Niece, Amanda (Matt) Martin and his Nephew, Ian (Christy) Brown and their children He was preceded in death by his Mother, Virginia (Armfelt) McGilvery, his Uncle, Robert Hess and by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents. Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 10 AM until the time of services there at 11 AM with Rev. Matthew Golibersuch officiating.
