WESTFIELD - Clyde A. "Butch" Himes, Jr., age 66, of Dade City, FL, formerly of Westfield, NY died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at home in Dade City.
Butch was born on December 28, 1947 in Westfield, NY, the son of the late Clyde A. and Helen L. (Beck) Himes, Sr..
He served in the US ARMY during the Vietnam war from 1968 until 1970 attaining the rank of E-5.
"Butch" was raised in Mayville, New York and was a 1967 graduate of Mayville High School. He had been employed by Raynor Chrysler Plymouth in Westfield, drove truck, and for the last 25 years had been a diesel mechanic for the NYS DOT in Mayville. Butch was a former member of the Hartfield Fire Department.
In the 1970's and 80's he was a winning stock car driver at Stateline Speedway driving the # 98 sponsored by Elwell's Tasty Sweet. His hobbies included following NASCAR racing, golf, hunting, fishing, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlotte M. (Alexander) Himes, whom he married on October 3, 1970 in Stillwater, NY, and by his five daughters: Brennen Delcamp and Terri Delcamp both of Erie, PA, Cindy (Bill) Hutchison of Indianapolis, IN, Susan (Bruce) Laurie of Fredonia, NY, and Sheryl (Calvin) Carlson of Westfield, NY. Butch was the proud grandfather of Christina Jaynes, Stephanie Markham, Danielle Ochoa, Thomas Kell, Joshua Hutchison, Mitchell, Tyler and Scot Laurie, and Jordan and Brooke Carlson. He is further survived by 11 Great Grandchildren, his sister, Tammy (Bill) Gardner of Ripley, NY and his two brothers, Fred (Rita) Himes of Dade City, FL, and John (Amy) Himes of Kennedy, NY;
He was preceded in death by his two Brothers, Timothy and Craig "Rick" Himes.
Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home on _____________ from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and are invited to attend the Funeral Services there on ____________ at ______o'clock with Rev. Gary Henry officiating. Burial will be private in Westfield Cemetery.

Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 24, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and are invited to attend the Funeral Services there on Wednesday, June 25 at 11am with Rev. John Rough officiating. Burial will be private in Westfield Cemetery.
