WESTFIELD - William G. Brown, Sr., age 82, of Westfield, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at VAMC-Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. after a brief illness. Mr. Brown was born April 10, 1931 in Limestone, NY, the son of the late Stuart Brown.
After high school, Bill went on to serve his Country in the United States Army from 1949 to 1959 receiving an honorable discharge He retired from as a(n) Truck Driverin 1999.

. after Bill's honorable discharge from the Army, he was an auto mechanic for awhile before his truck driving career
Bill loved to fish and hunt around the area whenever he was able to.
He was the Commander of the VFW of Westfield for several years where he belonged as a lifemember. He was also Chautauqua County Commander of the VFW for a time and a regular member of the American Legion Post 327 of Westfield.
He is survived by one son: Robert K. Brown of Westfield, NY; ;

WESTFIELD - William G. Brown, Sr., age 82, of Bourne Street, Westfield, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at VAMC in Buffalo, NY. after a brief illness. Mr. Brown was born April 10, 1931 in Limestone, NY, the son of the late Stuart Brown.
After high school, Bill went on to serve his Country with the United States Army from 1949 to 1959 serving most of his time in Germany.
When Bill returned home from the Army, he became a well-rounded auto mechanic with the abilities to fix anything. After working on vehicles for a period of time, he chased his dreams and became an over the road truck driver for several different transportation companies in the area, putting many miles under his belt. He retired from truck driving in 1999.
In his spare time, Bill enjoyed the outdoor life of hunting and fishing and spending time with his loving family.
Bill was a member of John W. Rogers Post 327 American Legion of Westfield and a life member of the Wm. P Jackway Post 6764 VFW where he served as the Commander there for several years. Bill also served as the Chautauqua County Commander of the VFW's for a period of time as well.
Bill is survived by his loving companion, Betty Mele, with whom he shared his home with ,four daughters: Starla Breads (Pat) of Dunkirk, NY, Pandora (Darren) Brown of Westfield, NY, Ruth Ann(Shane) and Jolene Gerlinger. Also survived by his three sons: Robert (Lisa) Brown of Westfield, NY, William (Phyllis) Brown, Jr. also of Westfield, NY and Raymond Brown. Bill is further survived by his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren of both the Brown and Mele families.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his former wife, Aldine (Vicary) ,and two sons, Stuart and Donald Brown.
All funeral services will be held privately. Burial will be in East Ripley Cemetery.
