RIPLEY / PORTLAND - Marian G. (Ostrander) Campagna, "Grandma Ripley", age 93, of Portland, NY, formerly of Ross St., Ripley, NY, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center of Erie, PA. Marian was born on June 17, 1919 in Ripley, NY , the daughter of the late Ernest and Esther (Current) Ostrander. A long time Ripley resident, "Grandma Ripley", as she was known, was a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church and had been the Cafeteria Manager for Ripley Central School for 25 years. She had been active in Girl Scouting for over 60 years and was a Girl Scout Alumni and a member of the Ripley Firemen's Auxiliary. Marian had been the coordinator of the Ripley Community Food Pantry and was honored as the Community Citizen of the Year in 2002 by the Town of Ripley. She loved being around her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Marty (Leo) Franze of Brocton, NY and her son, Robert (Pat) Campagna of Grants Pass, OR. She was the proud Grandmother of; Carolyn M. (Gary) Magnuson of Brocton, NY, Brenda Gerould of Portland, Rebecca (Brion) Bovee of North East, PA, Nadine Campagna, Mark Campagna and Rob Campagna, all of California. She is further survived by 9 Great grandchildren and 8 Great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, V. James Campagna, whom she married on September 10, 1936 and who died on November 8, 1989. No Calling hours will be observed. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service to be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 25, 2013 at The Ripley United Methodist Church, West Main St., Ripley, NY. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ripley Community Food Pantry, 66 East Main St., Ripley, NY 14775 or to the Brocton Fire Dept., 80 Lake Avenue, Brocton, NY 14716 or The Portland Fire Dept., 6481 West Main Rd., Portland, NY 14769.
