WESTFIELD - Keith F. Matteson, age 74, of Spring Street, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Absolut Care of Westfield after an extended illness with his family by his side.
Mr. Matteson was born June 22, 1939 in Hamlet, NY and was the son of the late Lyle A. and Ruth (Porter) Matteson. .
Keith served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1968 in the reserves. After leaving the military, he went to college and received an education in teaching.
He married the love of his life, Judith Ann James on July 15, 1961 in Falconer, New York, together they raised two sons and resided in Brocton, NY. Keith was employed by the Brocton Central Schools for 24 years as the Industrial Arts Teacher retiring in 1994. Following his retirement he continued using his gifted talent in wood -working and craftsmanship and along with his brother Boyd, they built 53 homes by Matteson Construction. Keith also installed several television antennas in the area along with the help from his sons. He was also certified in the officiating of high school football and basketball associations.
Keith belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #118 in Westfield since 1972, The Vikings Club, the War Vets, and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith Ann(James) Matteson , their two sons: Rodney (Debra) Matteson of Deltona, Fla. and DC.Randy (Dr. Kristin) Matteson of Getzville, NY; and their eight wonderful grandchildren, Travis , Samantha, Jessica, Rachel, Sydney , Carter, Owen, and Cyrus Matteson. Also survived by his sister Sally (Jon) Saff and one brother, Boyd (Mary Lou) Matteson.
Keith was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Matteson.

He is survived by his wife: Judith Ann(James) Matteson two sons: Rodney (Debra) Matteson of Deltona, FLA, Randy (Dr. Kristin) Matteson of Getzville, NY; Brother of one sister: Sally (Jon) Saff and one brother: Boyd (Mary Lou) Matteson; He also has eight grandchildren. Grandson, Travis Matteson; granddaughter, Samantha Matteson; granddaughter, Jessica Matteson; granddaughter, Rachel Matteson; granddaughter, Sydney Matteson; grandson, Carter Matteson; Grandson, Owen Matteson; Grandson, Cyrus Matteson.
Predeceased by his brother, Thomas Matteson.
A memorial service will be held on at Bemus Point Methodist Church, , Bemus Point, NY with officiating. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery Crematory, Erie on at .

Mr. Matteson was born June 22, 1939 in Hamlet, NY and was the son of the late Lyle A. and Ruth (Porter) Matteson. .
Keith served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1968 in the reserves. After leaving the military, he went to college and received a Bachelor's degree in teaching education.
He married the love of his life, Judith Ann James on July 15, 1961 in Falconer, New York, together they raised two sons, Rodney and Randy and resided in Brocton, NY. Keith was employed by the Brocton Central Schools for 28 years as the Industrial Arts Teacher retiring in 1994. Following his retirement he continued using his gifted talent in wood -working and craftsmanship and along with his brother Boyd, they built 53 homes by Matteson Construction. Keith also installed several television antennas in the area with the help from his sons.
He was also certified in the officiating of high school football and basketball games in the area.

Calling hours will be held at the Bemus Point United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held there on Friday, August 16,2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Kristen Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery, Westfield, NY.
