Obituary of Kathlene Cusimano

WESTFIELD-Kathlene (Bidwell) Cusimano, age 71, of Kernersville, NC, formerly of Jamestown, NY, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Westfield, NY with her family by her side Kathlene was born on September 12, 1941 in Jamestown, NY. the daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Lindquist) Bidwell. A Chautauqua County resident most all her life, Kathlene graduated from High School in Buffalo and returned to Jamestown where she enjoyed many years of employment at both Manor Oak SNF and the Lutheran Home. She had also been a housekeeper for several Jamestown area families. She and her husband Richard moved to North Carolina about 13 years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Kernersville. Kathlene was an avid garage sale attendee. She would hunt for hours for that "special treasure". She enjoyed boating and fishing and had won several fishing tournaments. However, what brought Kathlene the most joy was her family. Family meant everything to her and she enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner for all of them. She was well known by family and friends for her Christmas Cookies. She is survived by her husband of 45 years: Richard J. Cusimano, whom she married on June 15, 1968 in Jamestown, her two daughters: Tara M. Calder of Mason, OH, and Alecia (Jeff) Gerdy of Westfield, NY and her son: Aaron T. Cusimano of Kernersville, NC Kathlene was the proud grandmother of, Megan, Michael and Morgan Gerdy, and Kura and Laura Cusimano. She was blessed with two Great Grandsons, Tage Tuzzo and Damion Bryant. She is further survived by her brother: John Bidwell of Tonawanda, NY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother Mary (Della Penna) Bidwell and by her sister, Mary Lou Erickson. Friends may call at the MASON FUNERAL HOME, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 11 AM until the time of Funeral Services there at 1 PM Rev. Wm. Leslie officiating. Burial will be private.
