Dear Kevin, Kim, Karissa, Heather, & Shirley,Recently my sister Freda told me of Vickie's death. I was saddened to hear of your loss but I rejoice that she is with the Lord. After hearing about Vickie's passing, it brought back some really great memories of what a fun person she had been when we were growing up in Wattsburg. She had such an infectious laugh and was usually able to find a positive and humorous aspect to what life offered. Vickie was very sweet and kind when we used to discuss our teenage "problems" (which were numerous but not really very big deals, as I think back on them). It is sad to find that as we grow older, we often grow apart from the people and places that meant so much to us when we were young. However, when I think about Vickie, I still consider her one of my best friends for the wonderful person that was. I hope that your family is able to remember that as well.God bless and comfort you all,Toni

Dear Turner and Bayle families:I learned of Vickie's passing tonight on Facebook. Very surprising and shocking. I looked at the source of her passing...and learned that this has been a hard road for her, and for the families. My deepest sympathies with the suffering of that path imposed by life. I have no idea how long Vickie suffered with the disease...and how challenging it all was to the family...but I know that her passing now has some release for her and for you. All forms of dementia claim the person, before it claims the body. Person is recognizable...but the personality and persona...all leave us confused in seeing one who is intimately familiar...but is now a stranger. In that way...it is probably more tough on the family...and exhausting...emotionally and physically. It has been decades since I have seen any of the Turner or Bayle clan. At least since I moved here to Iowa. But to know of Vickie's death...it pulls me right back to Wattsburg...to a lovely home on Main Street...close to the high school...and one of the families of larger network in the community. From Chaffee's now in 5 different states...we wish you our deepest sympathies...and wish all of you a renewing and revitalizing healing from the freedom Vickie has gained in leaving this disease behind.

Kevin, Kim, Karissa, and Heather, all the sympathy in the world to you all. Time and circumstances have not been kind through the years, for that I apologize. Vickie was a sister, not a niece we grew up together, and I will never forget all the good times we had. She was always kind to me through all the things that went on, and I will miss her always, even though we had grown apart.Love you all,Aunt Debbie
