Mrs. Skahill & family: My sincerest sympathies....I was fortunate enough to work for, and learn from Jack in my first professional contract position following college graduation. I can't say enough about how much I admired him - mostly because he always looked you straight in the eye! I'm a better professional and a richer person for knowing him. Many prayers to you.

It is with a sad heart that I write these words. We can take comfort in knowing that Jack/Dad is in a much better place. He is with Jesus playing the long course and sinking all those ten-foot "gimmies". We will miss his booming voice and his special New Yoowrk "attitude". Kendra and I will keep you and your family in our prayers. In closing, let me include the words to Taps, which is what we used to recite at the end of every Scout meeting. "Day is done, gone the sun. Eddie called me today with the sad news. My heart aches for you and the children but no one could have fought harder, lived fuller, or had a better mate and caretaker than Jack. I think back to how God helps choose our partner, knowing what we will need and how he blessed you both with each other even if the time was too short. 2 Timothy 4:7 comes to mind. Eileen, There is so much to say and, at the same time, so few words to communicate the loss we feel. Jack was a friend in so many ways....a fellow Navy mam, a teacher, a Rotarian, neighbor, and just a good friend. He was always there when we needed him and always ready to help in any way he could. So sorry to hear about Jack's passing. I was fortunate to know him when my son was attending Mr. Markham and after we moved to Brookfield. He was excellent with the students and he was diligent in bettering the place he was in. I was sorry when he left Brookfield. He will be missed.

Thank you for alerting Rod and myself so we could call last week and speak with Jack. Know that Jack was a generous, thoughtful leader for our Brocton Central School District, and many appreciated his willingness to expand boundaries in order to benefit everyone in the school community. Jack was a wonderful and honorable man. Not only was an educator and our high school principle, but he was a dedicated veteran that provided guidance both during and after high school. I am proud to share the title of Master Chief Hospital Corpsman with such a man. He will be missed by many, including the many Marines and Sailors he served with. God bless.
