Obituary of Michael Mata SR

WESTFIELD - Michael J. Mata Sr. of Hickory, N.C., formerly of Falconer, N.Y., and Westfield, NY, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012. He was born Sept. 16, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Bova) Mata. He is a veteran of the Marine Corps serving from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. He retired from Dowcraft Corporation and in earlier years worked in construction. He is survived by his son, Mick (Cathy) Mata; two grandchildren, Tyler and Zakery of Kennedy, N.Y.; his companion, Carole Brands and his pets: Pebbles and BamBam of Hickory, N.C.; a sister, Pal (Bill) Bollman of Danville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11 AM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY, with Fr. Marius J. Walter officiating.
