Stephen A. “Steve” Nichols

November 20, 1942 – January 11, 2025

Stephen A. Nichols, 82, of Westfield, NY passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pa.

He was born in Jamestown, NY on November 20, 1942, the son of the late Jerome and Violetta (nee Anthony) Nichols. He married Nancy Levandoski on August 14, 1971 in Westfield, NY.

Steve graduated from Westfield Academy and Central School in 1961. He was a proud patriot who served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964 during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Village of Westfield in the Electric Department for 33years holding many different positions retiring in 1997.

His memberships included the Westfield Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 118 and the American Legion.

Steve coached the Westfield Golden Hawks and the Babe Ruth teams. He played both fast & slow- pitch softball and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 Years Nancy Nichols; a dear sister, Judith Rhodes of Washington, Utah; a niece, Kathryn Hoyt of Westfield, NY ; four nephews, Michael and Thomas (Lona) and Matthew LaChiusa and Timothy Newell.

He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Cecil Rhodes and a nephew, Kevin Newell.
