BROCTON - Michael J. Ameno, age 48, of Central Ave., Brocton died, unexpectedly, Monday, August 29, 2011 while in Illinois. Michael was born on August 24, 1963 in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late Frank and Clara (Warrick) Ameno. Michael had been a member of the Portland Fire Department during the 1980's. He had a passion for cooking elaborate meals, fixing vehicles and camping trips. He was an avid fan of Jerry Springer. He was employed by Mogen David Wine Co. for 23 years, most recently as a Warehouse Checker. Survivors include his wife: Lynda K. (Farnham) Ameno, his daughter, Samantha (Robert) Fancher, his son, Joseph Ameno, both of Brocton, and his step-son, Nathan Szwejbka of Naples, FL, as well as his grandson, Dylan Fancher, also of Brocton. He is further survived by his sister, Yvonne (Carlos Medina) Ameno of Dunkirk, NY and his two brothers: Frank Ameno, Jr. of Dunkirk and Allan Ameno of Youngstown, OH. Funeral services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
