Dec. 15, 1976 – Oct. 19, 2024

Hillary A. Schnars, 47, of Portland, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 19, 2024 at her home with her family at her side.

She was born on December 15, 1976 in Wheat Ridge, CO, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Jane (nee Raner) Leroy.

Hillary worked as a Sous Chef for Steelbound in Springville and Ellicottville, NY

She is survived by her husband, Jason Schnars; five children, Mark Bender Jr. of Porter, TX, Stanley Overturf of Bemus Point, NY, Amber Bender of Dunkirk, NY, Jason Schnars Jr. of Portland, NY and Heather Moore of Indiana; she is also survived by many children who considered her their mom; two grandchildren, Jane Bender and Noah Moore.

Hillary was very involved and active in the communities in which she lived. She was an integral part of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, helping children who were battling cancer by raising money for research and treatment. She enjoyed crocheting, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

As per her wishes services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
