Lawrence R. Baker

March 22, 1941 – May 11, 2024

Lawrence  R.  “ Larry” Baker, 83, of  Sherman, NY passed away on Saturday,  May 11, 2024 at his residence with his family at his side.

Larry was born in Westfield, NY on March 22, 1941, the son of the late Leroy and Bessie (nee Fuller) Baker.

Larry was a Westfield area resident all his life. He worked for General Electric in Erie, Pa retiring in 2002.

He enjoyed fishing with his family, gardening, baking, woodworking projects around his house, driving down country rounds and especially spending time with his family. Larry was an amazing man who would help any person who needed it.

Larry is survived by a son David Baker of Sherman, NY; a daughter, Rebecca (Ken Morehouse) Bearce of Erie, Pa.; a grandson, Ryan (Kayla Slaughenhaupt) Baker; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Ava Baker; two brothers, Rodger (Karol) Baker of Hornell, NY and Paul (Beanie)Baker of Barcelona, NY; a sister, Bonnie (Robert) Strobel of N.C.; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years Madeline (nee Watson) Baker, a sister, Arlene  Ptak and a brother, Bert Baker.

Friends may call at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 11-1 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family, date and time to be announced.
