Suzanne L. Dodd

August 18, 1936 – April 12, 2024

Suzanne L. Dodd, 87, of Westfield, NY passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 12, 2024 at her residence with her family at her side. She was born in Westfield, NY on August 18, 1936 the daughter of the late Harris and Gertrude (Smith) Grant. On July 31, 1954, she married the love of her life Thomas W. Dodd in Westfield, NY and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2017.

Suzanne was a 1954 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School where she was known for being an excellent student and participated in the band as a majorette. She continued her education at Mitchell College in Statesville, NC earning an Associate Degree in Business and Accounting. Suzanne worked for Warlick Paint Store as an Interior Designer for 10 years and a bookkeeper for Warlick Paint Company for 2 years. Her true passion was decorating houses and she loved interior design. Suzanne also enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, family gatherings, church activities, animals and social activities but most of all she was a devoted wife and loving mother. Suzanne and her husband Thomas were active members of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, NY.

She is survived by three children, Thomas (wife, Terry) Dodd of Atlanta, Ga., Christopher Dodd of Statesville, N.C. and Jody Dodd- Jaynes of Westfield, NY: five cherished grandchildren; Thomas (wife, Haley), Kathryn, Robert (wife, Paula) Dodd, Jennifer (husband, James) Thornwell and Brianna Jaynes and two great-grandchildren; Lillianna Miller and Ashtyn Sweet. Suzanne is also survived by her two sisters, Nancy (husband, Peter) Palmer of Gowanda, NY and Barbara Camp of Jamestown, NY. In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Thomas W. Dodd and a granddaughter, Whitney Ashlyn Jaynes.

“A Celebration of Life” service will be held at the First Westfield United Methodist Church of Westfield, NY, 101 E. Main St. Westfield with the date and time to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY.
