Obituary of John Saraf JR

WESTFIELD - John Saraf, Jr., age 77, of West Main Street, Westfield, NY and Punta Gorda, Florida, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at home in Westfield. John was born on February 1, 1934 in Lockport, NY, the son of the late John and Agnes (Kyston) Saraf. A Westfield area resident for the past 30 years, John, a prominent Westfield businessman, was the co-owner, along with his wife, Peggy, of Saraf's Emporium, an antique gallery on Main Street in Westfield. He was raised in Lockport, NY, graduated from Lockport Schools and entered the US Army. John had been an entrepreneur in the restaurant business having built Pat's Drive-In Restaurant in Silver Creek, NY, the Union Station Dinner House in Lockport and Wide waters Drive-In also in Lockport. John introduced Western New York to the Curley Fry. He enjoyed antiques and fishing. However, family was the love of his life and very important to him. Mr. Saraf was a member of The Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and the Eastern Niagara Chamber of Commerce, He is survived by his wife of almost 23 years, Peggy L. (Lantzy) Saraf, whom he married on June 24, 1988, his two daughters: Jennifer M. Miles of New York, NY, and Jennifer D. Waterman of Westfield, NY and his two sons: John H. Saraf of Westfield, NY and Jason M. Saraf of Buffalo, NY. John was the proud grandfather of Delaney Waterman of Westfield and brother of Cynthia Kick of Lockport, NY and Robert T. Saraf of Punta Gorda, FL. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Theodore Saraf Friends may call on Friday, June 24, 2011, from 5-8 PM at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, where the funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00AM with Fr.
