WESTFIELD - Rita Faith (Manning) Bova, age 92, of Cass Street, Westfield, formerly of Spring St., passed away Saturday morning, June 4, 2011 at Absolut Care of Westfield. Rita was born on February 5, 1919 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Bernard and Mina (Northrup) Manning. A Westfield resident most of her adult life, Rita moved to Westfield from Ripley, NY. She played several sports in high school and was a fan of baseball and basketball. Rita, a devoted mother, also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. Her rose garden, with several varieties of roses, was her pride and joy. Mrs. Bova was a devout member of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Parish and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Westfield Fish and Game Club. She is survived by her son, Larry A. Bova of Westfield, NY, and by her daughter, Donna (Bova) Drake-Fyler, of London, England. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Angelo S. Bova, whom she married on June 7, 1952 in Westfield and who died on December 22, 2008. She was also preceded by her brothers, Bernard and Irving Manning, and by her five sisters, Vera Manning, Mina Dressel, Lorraine Lanphere, Bernice Lear and Blanche Miller. Friends may call on at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, NY on Saturday morning, June 11, 2011 from 11AM until the time of Services there at 12 Noon with Deacon William Boneberg of St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. A Parish Rosary Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmont Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750 or to St. Dominic Roman Catholic Parish, 15 Union St., Westfield, NY 14787, or to a charity of choice.
