Obituary of Dorothy M. Dibble

Dorothy M. Dibble, 85, of Westfield, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 2, 2023 at Absolut Care of Westfield.

She was born on March 2, 1938 in Westfield, NY the daughter of the late Lawrence and Edith (nee Napper) Farnham.

Dorothy graduated from Brocton High School in1956. She married the love of her life Edward H. Dibble on September19, 1959 in Westfield, NY and he predeceased her on September 4, 2019.

 She was self-employed as a licensed day care provider from her home for many years until her retirement.

Dorothy was an active member in the Westfield community and some highlights include being the first female president of the Cross Roads Farm & Craft Market. She knitted and sewed many gloves, hats, scarves and blankets etc. that were sold or given away from the store. She was devoted to the well-being, caring and nurturing of others. She also belonged to the First Baptist Church of Westfield.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three loving children, Linda Gens, Daniel and Scott (Cathy) Dibble all of Westfield; three grandchildren, Nicole (Matthew) Cohen, Nathan Gens, Alex (Catherine) Dibble; five great-grandchildren, Oliver, Lily, Scott and Ethan Dibble and Liam Cohen; two brothers, Donald (Marsha) Farnham of Dunkirk, NY and John Farnham of Brocton, NY.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband of 59 years Edward H. Dibble she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Higgins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Westfield, 19 Union St., Westfield at 11 AM. The Rev. Matthew Wolfe will officiate. Interment will be private in the Westfield Cemetery.
