Lawrence D. McGuinn

Lawrence D. McGuinn, 78, of Westfield died unexpectedly on Monday, November 20, 2023 at home.  He was born on February 4, 1945, son of the late Alfred S. and Margaret (Wilson) McGuinn.

Larry was raised in Kenmore, New York, while spending childhood holidays and summers in Westfield on the Wilson Hill Farm.  Larry graduated from Kenmore West Senior High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University.  After graduation, Larry took over the management of the Wilson Hill Farm and later expanded to establish Lin-Ary Vineyards.  Larry enjoyed his lifetime career as a Viticulturist.  He served for a number of years as secretary and as president of the Westfield Maid Cooperative.  Larry was a life member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity.  He was also a member of the Chautauqua County Cornell Cooperative Extension.  Larry enjoyed his family, grape farming, sunsets over Lake Erie, photography, wildlife, the Buffalo Bills, and dogs.

Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Dankerk) McGuinn, whom he married August 23, 1969; two daughters, Heather M. (Christopher) Guido and Heidi C. (Ray) McGuinn Duncombe; grandchildren Matthew Guido, Ava Duncombe, Zack Duncombe, and Philip Guido. Larry is also survived by two sisters, Sara Stoddart and Sheri McGuinn.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charles, James, and Robert McGuinn.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 10-11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church on Portage St. in Westfield, NY.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 11 AM.
