Obituary of Edward A. Shaw

Edward A. Shaw, 88, of Ripley, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, June 22, 2023 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk, NY.

He was born in Morris Twp., Pa. on April 8, 1935 the son of the late Edward C. and Dora (VanMeter) Shaw.

He married Diane J. Mutch on Oct. 8, 1960 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2018, after 57 years of marriage.

Ed worked for True Temper Corp in Dunkirk, NY manufacturing hand and edge tools for many years.

Ed served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Dominic R.C. Church in Westfield, NY and the Westfield Fish and Game Club, where he enjoyed shooting trap.

He also loved to hunt and attend car shows all over WNY and Pa.

Ed is survived by many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorena and Dorothy Anderson and Mary McMasters, a brother, Richard Shaw and a half-brother, Clarence Shaw.

Friends may call at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY from 10- 11AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM.
