Patricia A. Raeder, 74, of Ripley, NY passed unexpectedly on Monday morning May 15, 2023.

She was born on December 2, 1948 in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bernadette (Hough) O’ Brien. Patricia married the love of her life, Frank Raeder on November 12, 1966 in Mayville, NY.

She was a member of St. Dominic RC Parish in Westfield, NY and was a very active member of the former St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Ripley, NY, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and belonged to the Rosary Altar Society. She worked in quality control for Rich’s Foodservice for many years and also worked side by side her husband Frank on the Raeder Grape Farm. Pat volunteered for “Feeding WNY”, delivering  food monthly to the needy.

Pat loved baseball, in her younger years she played second base for a women’s softball league with her sister –in-law Linda Travis in Brocton, NY. She also loved the Yankees and faithfully watched Days of Lives.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 56 years Frank Raeder; a daughter, Patsy Raeder of Erie, Pa; a sister, Annabelle (Jeff) Olson of Maine; a brother, Joseph (Tanya) O’Brien; her close friend, Corkey (Paul Jr.) Lanphere of Westfield, NY ; two god-children, LaDona (Mike) Fazio of Sterling, MA and Paul (Melissa) Lanphere III of Westfield, NY. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Chad Raeder and a half-brother Jerry O’Brien.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 4- 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at St Dominic RC Parish, 15 Union St. Westfield, NY at 10 AM. Interment will follow at the Quincy Cemetery in Ripley, NY.
