Obituary of Judith H. Lyon

Judith H. Lyon, 85, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2022.  She was born on June 13, 1937, the eldest daughter of the late Gordon and Leone (Jaquith) Hawk in Westfield, New York.

Judy is survived by her kind and loving husband of 66 years, Bruce P. Lyon, whom she married on February 21, 1956. Bruce gave Judy the world.  She is further survived by her five children:  Amber (Glenn) Laurie, Aaron (Melissa) Lyon, Audrey Gaye (Will) Mason, Andrew (Teri) Lyon, and Amy (Dale) Peterson as well as 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, three siblings: Bill (Pat) Hawk, Nancy (Paul) Napper and Tim Hawk.

Judy was a1955 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School.  She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Westfield, New York as well as a Sunday school teacher for many years.  Judy was an awarding winning quilter, traveling the world working on her quilts, winning best in show at the Chautauqua Fall Festival Quilt Show.  In her later years, Judy along with Bruce, became avid bird watchers and worked together on “Wood Creations”.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, New York on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral service and burial will be private.
