Richard C. “Dickie” Ahrendt, 73, of Westfield, NY passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at St. Vincent
Hospital in Erie, Pa.
He was born in Baltimore, Md. on October 16, 1948 the son of the late William and Matilda (Clark)
Ahrendt.
Dickie is survived by a cousin and his legal guardian, Judy Beckman and co-guardian, Donna Hanlon of
Orchard Park, Judy’s father, John W. Beckman ,who was his surrogate father, both of Westfield, NY and
a close cousin’s, Jeannie (late Halas) Beckman of Westfield, Barbara Beckman-Gutierrez of Baton Rouge,
La., John W. Beckman Jr. of NC, Janet Beckman of Westfield , William Beckman of Beverly, MA and John
Miller of Wolfe Lake, NY; also survived by many other cousins.
In addition to his parents, Dickie was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ahrendt and two sisters,
Barbara and Virginia Ahrendt, his aunt, who was his guardian until her passing, Evelyn Miller and a
cousin, Alice Beckman.
Dickie was the epitome of a Christian man, who had an extremely strong faith. He was known for his
kindness, caring and loving personality.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Westfield Cemetery at 11 AM,
180 E. Main St. Westfield, NY.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY.
