Obituary of Doris Kathleen Adams

WESTFIELD, NY - Doris Kathleen "Butchie" Adams, age 69, of Bourne St. ,Westfield, formerly of Millcreek Twp., PA, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at home in Westfield. She was born on February 16, 1941 in Barcelona, NY, the daughter of the late Gerald E. and Alta (Davenport) Perdue. Born and raised in Barcelona, "Butchie" was a 1959 graduate of Westfield Academy and attended Bob Jones University in SC, Midwestern University in Texas and graduated from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA with a degree in Accounting. She assisted her late husband, Bill with his business, Adams Electronics, in Erie for many years prior to his death in 2007. She was a huge NY Yankees fan and had visited the old stadium just before its demolition. She enjoyed gardening, reading and animals. She loved her Corgi, Jumper, who died this past September. However, Kathy's family was the love of her life. She was well known by her family for her famous Christmas Cookies. She had attended the West Portland Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter: Jennifer Adams of Pittsburgh, PA, her two sisters, Marilyn Jaynes and Wanda "Beanie" Baker and her brother, Walter "Tim" Perdue all of Westfield. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, William Donald Adams, whom she married on May 3, 1968 in Glen Rose, Texas and who died on October3, 2007 as well as by her brother, Gerald "Gary" Perdue, and her two sisters, Cora Mae (Dot) Metzger, and Lois Perdue Pratt No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 at the West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 West Main Road, Westfield, NY, with Rev. Ryan Grafton officiating.
