Obituary of Elaine Watson

WESTFIELD - Elaine Bell Watson, age 83, of Colburn Street, Westfield died Monday, October 25, 2010 at Westfield Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Elaine was born on February 10, 1927 in Belfast, NY the daughter of the late Hosea M. and Louisa (Buchheister) Bell. A Westfield resident most of her adult life, Elaine was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield. She received a bachelor's degree in English Education from Houghton College and enjoyed a career as a Social Worker with the Chautauqua County Dept. of Soc. Services in Mayville retiring in 1989. Elaine loved participating in Community Theater, enjoyed reading, playing the piano, knitting and most of all she enjoyed her independence and her family. She is survived by her daughter: Jacqueline (Peter Brand) Phillips of Needham, MA and her son: William (Erika) Phillips of Cornelius, NC. She was the proud grandmother of Alexander Phillips Brand and Michael Phillips Brand both of Needham, MA She was preceded in death by her Husband, George F. Watson in 2009 and her son, Robert L. Phillips in 1988. No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to join with Elaine's family for a Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at 1 PM at The First United Methodist Church Of Westfield, 101 East Main Street, Westfield with Rev. Matthew Golibersuch officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Belfast, NY In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmont Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750.
