Obituary of James B. Griffin

Born in Erie, PA and raised in Findley Lake, Ny he was the salutitorian of the Findley Lake High School Class of 1934. Jim entered the US Marine Corps in 1940 and served with honor with the 1st Marine Division, 3rd Guard Company during WW II. He earned the Bronze Star and a Gold Star in lieu of the second Bronze Starfor his actoins in the Marshall Islands, the Marianas Islands and the capture of Guam. Following the war he began a career as a Dairy Farmer in Findley Lake and retired from the farm in 1979. He moved to Westfield in 1988. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, all animals, gardening, bird watching, reading, cooking and helping around the house and his three mile walks with his wife. He was an avid woodworker and "could make or fix just about anything". However, more than anything, Jim loved and enjoyed his family.
