WESTFIELD - Miss Mary Jane Caras, age 80, of East 2nd St., Jamestown, formerly of Westfield, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at WCA Hospital, Jamestown, following an extended illness. She was born on June 28, 1929 in Westfield, NY the daughter of the late Anthony and Genevieve (Calos) Caras. Mary Jane had been a resident of the Jamestown Resource Center for many years. She has been disabled since childhood. She enjoyed her religion, wind chimes, music and her many friends at the Center. She loved her family. She is survived by her sister, Effie (Caras) Perdicas of Buffalo, NY, her many nieces and nephews that include; Ellen Andrews of Fredericksburg, VA, Anastasia Rossiter of Grand Island, NY, Anthony G. Perdicas of Buffalo, NY, Athena S. Schiller of Largo, FL, Ernest W. Perdicas of Wesley Chapel, FL, Michael Culligan of Corona, CA, Thomas M. Culligan of McLean, VA, Daniel J. Culligan of Fredonia, NY, and Caras Ann Brundage of Safety Harbor, FL. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Margaret Culligan in 2007, and Helen Caras in 1973. Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield on Wednesday at 10 AM with an Orthodox Funeral Service to follow at 11 AM. Fr. George Zervos of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church officiating. Private burial will be in Westfield Cemetery directly following the service.
