Obituary of Kenneth Lynn Duink

Kenneth L. Duink Kenneth L. Duink, age 80, died on June 2,2009 at Absolut Care in Westfield, NY. Born July 7, 1928 in West Portland, NY, he was the son of the late Herbert and Jennie Duink. Kenneth attended Jamestown High School in Jamestown, NY. On October 14, 1949 Kenneth married the former Phyllis Eklund in Stillwater, NY. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this fall. All his life, farming was Kenneth's passion. He owned and operated a family farm in Mina, NY for 50 years. He was a diversified farmer always expanding his knowledge to try new methods in farming. Many years were spent promoting the 4-H Beef Program. Kenneth also enjoyed talking with friends and family, and reading. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Russell Duink; and a sister Jean Bastian. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Duink of Westfield, NY; two sons, Jeffrey Duink of Jamestown,NY and Darryl Duink (Christine) of Hamburg, NY; one daughter, Wanda Cochrane of North East, PA; two grandchildren, Chad Cochrane (Leah) of Lancaster, PA; Stacy Duink of Hamburg, NY; two great-grandchildren, Rorie and Cole Cochrane. He is also survived by his brother, Max Duink of Frewsburg, NY; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be contributed to the Stanley Hose Fire Department, Sherman, NY 14781, or a charity of your choice.
